Street Noise

You can address the issue at 3 points:

1. Insulating roller shutter casing

You line the roller shutter casing with our roller shutter casing insulation Rolaflex and reduce the noise which is produced by this resonance body. The sheets are adhered directly to the roller shutter casing. You will find more detailed information directly with the products - click here.

2. Insulating windows

You plug the window well with our ester sound insulation sheets or, even better, with our rebond foam sheets. The thicker the foam, the better the insulation. You can naturally insulate both the roller shutter casing as well as plug the window well with a foam sheet to achieve the best possible insulation. You can remove the sheets during the day and plug the window well again in the evening.

The only alternative to the above proposal would be to install a new soundproof window.

3. Putting in new walls and insulating interstices

You need plasterboards (or similar firm sheets). You adhere our ester sound insulation foam or our rebond foams in turn to these sheets. The thicker, the better the insulating effect. You must then mount this construction in a floating manner in front of the original wall  - you will need the assistance of a drywall builder here. The new wall should be decoupled from the other walls and the floor so that vibrations cannot be transmitted (e.g.: via rubber or silicone joints). 1 – 2 cm of space should be left between the original wall and the foam to reinforce the insulating effect. The foam is thus between the two walls at some distance from the original wall. You thus have a fully functioning wall and optimal insulation between the walls or to the neighbouring apartment or adjacent room. Also read our guide “Insulating Walls and Ceilings” to learn about this insulation method in more detail.
